| dc.description.abstract | The experiment was conducted at the Horticultural Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. Dhaka, during the period from October 2007 to March 2008 to determine the effect of planting time and growth regulators on the growth and yield of cauliflower. The experiment consisted of two factors; Factor A : Planting Time - 3 levels such as P 1 : Early planting at 1 November; P 2: Mid planting at 15 November and P 3 : Late planting at I December; Factor B: Plant growth regulators - 4 levels, such as H 0 - No Hormone (control); H 1 : 10 ppm IAA (lndole-3 Acetic Acid); 11 2 : 70 ppm GA3 (Gibberelic Acid) and 1-1 3 : 10 ppm IAA + 70 ppm GA 3. The experiment was laid out following Randomized Complete Block Desgin (RCI3D) with three replications. In case of planting time highest plant height at harvest (63.82 cm), curd diameter (22.82 cm), marketable yield per hectare (28.11 tTha) was recorded from P2 and the lowest was recorded from P 3 . In case of growth regulators highest plant height at harvest (63.25 cm), curd diameter 022.65 cm, marketable yield per hectare (29.88 tlha) was recorded from H 3 and the lowest was recorded from H 0. Combination of planting time and growth regulators the highest plant height at harvest (67.46 cm), curd diameter (25.75 cm), marketable yield per hectare (31.03 t./ha) was recorded from P 2113 and the lowest was recorded from The highest benefit cost ratio (2.20) was noted from the combination P 2H3 and the lowest (1.59) was obtained from P31-10 . From economic point of view, it is apparent from the above results that the combination of P 2H3 was more profitable rest of the combination. | en_US |
