| dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of the study was to determine and describe the effect of CLP on livelihood under Kurigram District and to explore the relationship between the selected characteristics of CL? beneficiaries and their livelihood outcomes. The study was conducted at Fulbari Upazilla under Kurigram District. Data were collected from the CL? beneficiaries using a pre-tested interview sehedute during the period from 23th June 2008 to 24th July 2008. From the study it was found that the highest proportion (81.90 percent) of the respondents had medium effect of CL? on livelihood compared to 11.43 percent having low effect of CL? on livelihood and 6.67 percent had high effect of CL? on livelihood. Pearson Product Moment Correlation (r) test was used to ascertain the relationships between the concerned dependent and independent variable of the study. Findings revealed that level of education, extension contact, social cooperation, asset/relief availability had positive and significant relationship at 5% level of probability and asset/relief utilization and duration of involvement with CLP had positive and significant relationship at 1% level of probability where as migration had negative and significant relationship at 1% level of probability and family size, annual family income, food availability had non- significant relationship with the effect of CLI> on livelihood. According to PFI. evict villagers by land owner's/power elites caused the highest problem faced as indicated by its PFI of 223 while insufficient period of practical training caused the lowest problem faced as indicated by its PFI of 82 by the char villagers during involvement in char livelihood program. | en_US |
