(lazipur during k/unit season of 2007 using niungbean ( 13AR1 Mung-5 ) as a test crop. lhe objectives \¼crc (i) to evaluate the effect of 7 inc and boron on the s ield. nutrient LIIMake and seed quality o I' mungbean and (ii) to lind out the optim urn dose of zinc and boron hot maxim tmnig the seed N ield of niungbcan. Four le els each of zinc (0. ......U and 4.5 kg ha*') and boron (0. 1.(). 2.0 and 3.0 kg ha 4 ) s crc used to formulate 16 treatment coinbinalions. Besides.. 't blanhei dosc of N I . l K,, S. The response of munghean to added zinc was liner ( W-o.98 ) while tbr boron the response was quadratic ( Rt).X8) in nature. Si liii lar trend of restilts were observed in case of stover yield. 1 he interaction etiëei was not significant incase of yield components like plant height. pods per plait, pod temzth and seed per pod but main eliCct of both 7iflC and boron was signi Ileant in this regard. 1 he seed quality of mttngbean in ternis of 100 seed weight, seed protein content and germ inatiomi was increased signi 'leant Iv due to mean c IThet or hot Ii zinc and boron hut interaction ( Zn x B) et'lëct in this regard was ion-sign i Ileant. Nutrient uptake b in ungbean was also increased sign i ficantiv dtte to zinc and boron ferti I izat ic 'n and the highest result was observed in '1: 4 (/n. x U, kg ha''). Nitrogen baiance was appeared as apparenil> negative while phosphorus, potassium and sulphur balances were apparcnLl\ positive. Negative balances 01' zinc and boron were obsered in control (in,: 13:) indicating mining of nutrients in absence of there applicadon but pst balances were seen w ith their Ibrt i unit ion.
