| dc.description.abstract | A study was conducted in the Experimental field at L)haka, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University during November. 2006 to April. 2007 to evaluate the comparative effectiveness of different treatments (viz. Marshal 20EC. sumialpha SEC. Bait trap + hand picking (IF) Pheromone trap + hand picking (IF), Marshal 20 EC + bagging of fruits at 3 days after anthesis and left for 5 days, bagging of fruits + sumialpha 5 EC, Bagging of fruits + hand picking (IF) for the management of cucurbit fruit fly. Bactrocera cucurbitae on sweet gourd. The study revealed that the treatment T7 comprising of polythene bagging of fruits at 3 days after anthesis and left for 5 days + hand picking of infested fruit had the lowest level of fruit fly infestation in fruit both by number and weight at early. mid and late fruiting stages. Fruit yield of T7 treatment was significantly highest. followed by T6 treatment comprising of Sumialpha SEC &M, 1 mI/IL of water at 10 days interval + polythene bagging of fruits at 3 days after anthesis and left for 5 days. The lowest 1 7.25% and the highest 74.25% fruit infestation were recorded in treatments T6 and T3 treated plots respectively. | en_US |
