Abstract:
A field experiment was conducted at the experimental field of Sher-e-Bangla
agricultural university during July to December 2008 to find out effects of urea
super granule application on growth, yield attributes and of BRRI dhan3 I and
BRRI dhan34. The experimental treatments included two T.
aman
rice varieties
viz.
BRRI dhan3 1 and BRRI dhan34 variety and six levels of nitrogen
viz
No
nitrogen, prilled urea (65 kg Nha1
), USG 40 kg Nha4
, USG 45 kg Nha. USG 50
kg Nha' and USG 60 kg Nha* Results revealed that rice cultivars differed
significantly in all growth, yield contributing characters and yield.BRRI dhan3 I
produced the highest grain yield (3.73 t hi'). Among the treatments.
application USG 50 kg Nha' performed the best in all the parameter studied
which produced the highest grain yield (3.85 t hi'). Interaction BRRI dhan3 1
and USG 50 kg Nhi' showed significantly higher grain yields (4.45 t hi').
The higher grain yield was attributed mainly to the number of effective tillers
hilr', filled grains panicl&' and 1000-grains weight.
