dc.description.abstract A study was conducted at the Molecular Plant Pathology Laboratory, Department of Plant Pathology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, (SAU), Dhaka-1207, during the period of January to June, 2017 to isolate the bacteria from different mushroom substrates and to evaluate their biological activities against selected fungal pathogens (Fusarium oxysporum, Sclerotium rolfsii, Colletotrichum corchori). For this purpose three types of mushroom substrate viz. sawdust, rice straw and newspaper were used.Four bacteria were isolated and identified from mushroom substrate;those were Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus, Paenibacillus polymyxa and Pseudomonas sp. Among the bacterial isolates, Pseudomonas sp. has showed the best significant result against all three tested fungal pathogens, whereas Bacillus subtilis has the least significant result against the pathogens. Pseudomonas sp. showed highest inhibition against Sclerotium rolfsii (72.25%) followed by Fusarium oxysporum (68.96%) and Colletotrichum corchori (48.15%). en_US
