dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT RESPONSE OF T. AMAN RICE (BRRI dlian 40) TO MANURE AND GREEN MANURE AS A COMPONENT OF INTEGRATED NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT (INM) A (kId experiment was earned out at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAt)) Farm during the kharif period from July. 2011 to November 2011 to evaluate the response of BRRI dhan 40 to green manure & cowdung as a component of Integrated Nutrient Management The (kId experiment was conducted in combination with inorganic fertilizer and organic manure, The Red Brown Terrace Soil of Teigoan series was silty loam in texture having pH 5.6 The experiment was conducted in a Randonli7ed Complete Block Design (RCBD) with II treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were 'E'c'( Control), 1, (N 120 P,4K45 S21, Recommended dose), T 2 ( 80% NPKS -1-2 t ha" DH). T 3 ( 80% NPKS +4 t ha' t CD), T4 ( &J% NPKS + I tha 4 DII + 2 t ha CD). T;(70%NPKS t4tlia1 DI-1),T,( 70% NPKS + St ha" CD). T 7 ( 70% NPKS + 2 t ha' 01-I 4 t ha" CD ), T g ( 50% NI'KS 1- Gt ha" DH ), T9 ( 50% NPKS + 12 t ha" CD ), T10 ( 50% NPKS + 3 t ha" DI-! —6 t ha CD ). The result demonstrated that the yield contributing characters, grain and straw yields were significantly infitieneed by the added fertilizers and manure. Application of 70 % NPKS fertilizers -'- 4 c ha" dhaincha produced the highest grain yield ( 5.9 t hi') and the second highest grain yield (5.85 t ha•' was obtained from T 2 ( 80% NPKS + 2 1 ha ' Dli) treatment. In straw yield, the treatment 80% NPKS + 4 t ha' CD) produced the highest yield (8.59 t ha") and the second highest straw yield (8.08 t ha " ) was obtained front 1, (N 12o P1 4 1<4 S20 Recommended dose) treatment. The grain yield increases over control and ranges between. 31.18 to 86.31 %.The treatments 'I', and T 2 resulted in higher nutrient use efficiency along with higher N. P. K and S uptake by the T. Aman rice. The application of inorganic lbrtilizer with manure inlluenced the nutrient concentration in rice grain and straw. The higher grain N, P. K and S concentrations were observed in the treatments where dhaincha and cowdung were applied in combination with NPKS fertilizers. Grain yield of 'I'. Aman rice was positively correlated with number of effective tiller, plant height, panicle length. filled grain per panicle and straw yield. The combined application of fertilizer and organic manure increased the % organic carbon (OC). organic matter (OM) %. total N, available P and available S in post harvest soils. The overall findings of the study indicate that the integrated use of inorganic fertilizer and organic manure should be encouraged to address the deteriorating soil fertility and increased crop yield ofT.
