A field experiment was carried out at the Field, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural
University, Ohaka during Kharif-2 season of' 2007 to evaluate the effect of
pulled urea and urea super granule on the yield and nutrient uptake of BR1 I
rice. The experiment comprises nine treatments laid out in a Randomized
Complete Block Deign (RCBD) with three replications. The treatments were;
To
(Control), T, (N
12 (N
701,u).
1'3
40us(j), T
6
(N
70usc). T
7 (N I
(N lOOpu), T
4 (N
OOIJSG)
and T
8 (N I
130pu), T
5 (N
3OusG).
The recommended
fertilizer doses used for P,
K. S
and Zn were 20, 50, 16 and 2 kg hi'
respectively. The N fertilizers were used in two forms namely prilled urea and
urea super granule @40,70, 100, 130 kg hi'. Application of different forms of
N significantly increased the yield components and grain and straw yields of
BRI I rice. The performance of urea super granule was superior to prilled urea
at all the doses of N application except the highest dose 130 kg N hi' .The
treatment T
7
(N lOOus(;) produced the highest grain yield of 4867.33kg hi' and
straw yield of 5797.66 kg ha
4
. The lowest grain yield (3025.66 kg hi') and
straw yield (3694.66Kg hi') were round in control (T
0
) treatment The overall
results indicate that application of urea super granule @ 100 kg N ha" can be
more efficient and economic for T-aman rice production. However, further
investigation is necessary to make concrete recommendation. |
