dc.description.abstract The experiment was conducted in the Agronomy Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during the period from November 2015 to March 2016 to find out the effect of variety and potassium on the yield of lentil under residual soil moisture condition. The experiment consisted of two factors: Factor A: Three varieties of lentil (V 1 : BARI masur-5, V 2 : BARI masur-6, V 3 : BARI masur-7). Factor B: 4 doses of Potassium fertilizer (P 1 : 25 kg K 2 O ha -1 , P 2 : 30 kg K 2 O ha -1 , P 3 : 35 kg K 2 , P 4 : 40 kg K 2 O ha -1 ). There were 12 treatment combinations. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Variety, potassium level and their interactions had significant influence on water relations, yield contributing characters and yield of lentil. The maximum relative water content, exudation rate, grain yield (1.05 t ha 1 -1 ) and biological yield (2.38 t ha ) were found in BARI Masur-7 whereas the minimum in BARI Masur-5. The maximum relative water content, exudation rate, grain yield (0.99 t ha ) and biological yield (2.20 t ha -1 ) were also found from 40 kg K 2 O ha whereas the minimum were obtained from 25 kg K 2 O ha -1 . The maximum relative water content, exudation rate, grain yield (1.12 t ha -1 ), biological yield (2.57 t ha -1 ) were found from BARI Masur-7 with 40 kg K 2 O ha -1 while the minimum from BARI Masur-5 with 25 kg K 2 O ha -1 . en_US
