dc.description.abstract The experiment was conducted at the experimental field of Olericulture Division, HRC, BARI, Gazipur during the period from October 2010 to March 2011 to study the effect of seedling age and pruning on growth and yield of brinjal. The experiment consisted of two factors. Factor A: Different ages of seedlings; A : Bud stage pot seedling; A 2 : Bud stage seed bed seedling; A 3 : 35 days pot seedling; A : 35 days seed bed seedling; and Factor B: Different types of pruning; P 0 1 4 : No pruning : 3 stem retention and P : 4 stem retention. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design 2 produced the maximum number of fruits per plant 2 3 produced the maximum number of fruits per plant 3 P produced the maximum number of fruits per plant 2 1 82 therefore be concluded that the 35 days pot seedling with 4 stem retention was suitable combination for better growth and yield of brinjal. en_US
