Abstract:
An experiment was carried out at the central farm of Sher-e-Bangla
Agricultural University, Dhaka during the period from March to June, 2017 to
enhance the yield of blackgram by applying different herbicides. Three
blackgram varieties viz. V
1
(BARI mash-1), V
2
(BARI mash-2) and V
3
(BARI
mash-3) and four herbicides viz. T

= Hammer 24 EC (Carfentrazone Ethyl) at
2 ml liter
-1
, T
2
= Gramaxon (Paraquate Dichloride) at 3 ml liter
= Panida
(Pendimethalin) at 4 ml liter
-1
and T

= Whip super (Fenoxaprop-p-Ethyl) at 1.5
ml liter

were tested for the study. The experiment was laid out in a
Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. The effect of
variety, herbicides and their interactions were significant on most of the
parameter measured. In the study the combined effect of V

T

was found to be
significant in list of the highest number of pods plant

(16.30), number of

(6.64), pod length (4.26 cm) and grain yield (1434.40 kg ha
).
Whereas, the lowest number of pods plant

(3.90), number of seeds pod
(5.57) and grain yield (886.60 kg ha

) were recorded from the treatment
