dc.description A Thesis Submitted to the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of MASTER OF SCIENCE (MS) IN HORTICULTURE en_US
dc.description.abstract An experiment was accomplished in the Horticulture farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during the period from 15 October, 2018 to March, 2019 to find out the effect of vermicompost and Trichoderma on the yield and quality of BARI Tomato-14. The experiment was consisted of two factors: Factor A: Three levels of vermicompost viz, V 0 : control, V 1 : 2.5 t/ha, V 2 : 5 t/ha and Factor B: three levels of Trichoderma such as, T 0 : Control, T 1 : 50 g/m 2 , T 2 : 100 g/m 2 . The experiment was laid out in Completely Randomized Block Design (RCBD). In case of vermicompost treatment, the maximum fruit number (32.15 plant ), single fruit weight (91.49 g) and yield (82.62 t/ha), vitamin-c (14.97 mg/100g), TSS (3.81%), carotenoid (4.67 mg/100g), pH (4.53) were found from V 2 -1 whereas minimum in V 0 and among Trichoderma application, fruit number (31.69 plant -1 ), single fruit weight (91.33 g) and yield (81.22 t/ha), vitamin-c (14.85 mg/100g), TSS (3.66%), carotenoid (4.63 mg/100g), pH (4.48) were found from T 2 whereas minimum in T 0 . Considering combined effect, fruit number (37.06 plant -1 ), single fruit weight (93.41 g) and yield (92.27 t/ha), vitamin-c (16.60 mg/100g), TSS (4.51%), carotenoid (5.89 mg/100g), pH (4.84) were found from V 2 T 2 whereas minimum in V 0 T 0 . So the treatment combination V 2 T 2 significantly affected the growth, yield and quality parameters of tomato. en_US
