dc.description.abstract An experiment was conducted in the experimental field of Sher-e-Bangla AgriculturaUniversity, Dhaka to determine the effect of irrigation frequency on growth and yieldof different mustard varieties during the period from November 2019 to February2020. The experiment consisted of two factors. Factor A- Different mustard varietiesBARI sarisha-10, BARI sarisha-13 and BARI sarisha-15. Factor B- Four levels oirrigation viz. control- no irrigation (I 0 ), one irrigation at 45 DAS (I ), Two irrigationsat 45 and 60 DAS (I 2 1 ) and Three irrigations at 45, 60 and 75 DAS (I ); Theexperiment was laid out in the two factors Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Regarding varietal performance, BARI sarisha-10 gave the highest plant height (96.36 cm), number of leaves plant -1 (47.88), number obranches plant -1 (7.96) and number of siliqua plant -1 (112.67), whereas the higheslength of siliqua (6.54 cm), number of seeds siliqua -1 (34.67), 1000 seed weight (3.7g), Seed yield (1.13 ton ha -1 ), Stover yield (1.92 ton ha -1 ) and harvest index (35.32%were found from the variety BARI sarisha-13. Among different irrigation levels I (Three irrigations at 45, 60 and 75 DAS) treatment performed the highest plant heigh(94.58 cm), number of leaves plant -1 (48.39), number of branches plant (8.17), lengthof siliqua (6.25 cm), number of siliqua plant -1 -1 (108.83), number of seeds siliqua (32.87), 1000 seed weight (3.8 g), seed yield (1.12 t ha -1 ), stover yield (1.87 t ha ) andharvest index (34.58%) compared to control (I 0 ), I 1 and I treatments. In terms ovariety and irrigation treatments interaction, V 1 I 3 2 gave the highest plant height (95.47cm), number of leaves plant -1 (47.58), number of branches plant -1 (7.92), number osiliqua plant -1 (106.96), whereas V 2 I showed the highest length of siliqua (6.38 cm)number of seeds siliqua -1 3 (31.77), 1000 seed weight (3.7 g), seed yield (1.12 ton ha )stover yield (1.86 ton ha -1 ) and harvest index (34.93%). Hence, the variety BARIsarisha-13 with irrigation frequency at 45, 60 and 75 DAS were the suitablecombination for higher mustard yield. 3 -1 -1 -1 en_US
