dc.description.abstract An experiment was conducted at the Agronomy Farm Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh October, 2019 to March, 2020 to study the influence of some macronutrients combination (N, P & K) and spacing on the growth and yield of fenugreek seed (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.). Fenugreek variety BARI Methi-1 was used as planting material in this study. The experiment consisted of two factors: Factor-A: macro nutrient combinations (4 levels): T 0 = N 0 P 0 K 0 kgha -1 (control), T 1 = N 40 P 30 = N 80 P 60 K 60 kgha -1 , T 3 = N 120 P 90 K 90 kg ha -1 ; Factor-B: plant spacing (3 levels): S 1 = 30×10cm, S 2 = 30×20cm and S 3 = 30×30cm. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (factorial) with three (3) replications. Data on different growth, yield contributing and yield parameter of fenugreek were recorded and significant variation was observed from different treatments. In case of nutrient combinations, seed yield per plot (332.12g), seed yield (1142.8 kg ha -1 ), stover yield (865.49 kg ha -1 ), germination percentage (80.30 %) were observed from T 3 (N 120 P 90 K 90 kg ha -1 ) treatment. In terms of plant spacing the maximum seed yield per plot (353.20g), seed yield (1251.9 kg ha -1 ) and stover yield (1271.4 kg ha -1 ) were observed from S 1 (30×10cm) treatment. The maximum primary branch plant -1 at 30DAS (3.4) was observed from S 2 (30×20cm) treatment. The highest BCR (3.39) was obtained from the T 3 S 1 treatment combination whereas the lowest BCR (1.04) was from T 0 S 3 treatment combination It can be concluded that, sowing of fenugreek providing 120 kg N, 90 kg P and 90 kg K nutrient combination with 30 × 10 cm plant spacing was recorded to be more suitable practice for getting higher yield (1.82 t/ha) and quality of seed yield of fenugreek. en_US
