dc.description.abstract An experiment was organized on effect of Boron on morpho-physiological characteristics, growth and yield of Aromatic rice (BRRI Dhan 38) at central field of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207, during the period from July, 2018 to December, 2018. There were altogether 9 treatments with 3 replication consisting both soil and foliar application of boron including control. Boron was used as boric acid (H 3 BO 3 ). The treatments were as follows 1. No application of B (T 1 ) 2. Soil application of B at transplanting (T 2 ) 3. Soil application of B at tillering (T 3 ) 4. Soil application of B at flowering (T 4 ) 5. Soil application of B at grain formation (T 5 ) 6. Seedling roots dipping in B solution (T 6 ) 7. Foliar application of B at tillering (T 7 ) 8. Foliar application of B at flowering (T 8 ) and 9. Foliar application of B at grain formation (T 9 ).The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Data on different growth, physiological and yield contributing parameters were recorded. The highest plant height was (144.33cm) observed in T 9 1 where lowest was 135.47cm found from T 7 was 24.33 which was found from T 6 . The highest number of tiller hill where the lowest was 20.26 which found at T 7 . The highest number of leaves hill -1 was 97.33 found at T 6 and the lowest was 81.00 which was found at T 7 . The highest length, breadth and area of flag leaves were 40.93cm, 1.46cm and 59.94cm 2 respectively found at T 9 and lowest was 32.73cm, 1.24cm and 42.69cm 2 respectively found at T 5 and T 7 . The highest SPAD Value was 63.38 found from T 3 where the lowest was 36.28 found at T 7 . Highest number of panicle was 29.67 found for T 3 and lowest was 23.00 observed for T 6 . The highest panicle length was 23.54cm found at T 1 and lowest was 22.56cm found for T 6 . The highest number of effective and non-effective tillers hill -1 were 29.67 and 3.067 found from T 8 and T 3 and the lowest one were 23.00 and 1.40 found from T 4 and T 8 . The highest number of total, filled and unfilled grains panicle respectively . -1 were 256.28, 256.28 and 46.45 obtained from T 1 The highest 1000-grains weight and grain yield were 20.09g and 4.02kg obtained from T 6 and T 5 where as the lowest were 17.93g plot and 2.63kg found from T 2 and T7. The highest fresh and dry straw yield were 11.77kg plot -1 and 5.59kg plot -1 found at T 2. The highest biological yield and highest harvest index (%) were 1.07 t ha and the lowest one were 0.77 t ha -1 -1 and 7.49 % obtained fromT 5 and 4.63% obtained from T 2 . and T 2 -1 and T 9 en_US
