dc.description A Thesis Submitted to the Faculty of Agriculture, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SOIL SCIENCE SEMESTER: JULY- DECEMBER, 2020 en_US
dc.description.abstract The experiment was conducted at the research field of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka from June to December 2019 to investigate the comparative performance of organic and inorganic phosphorus and to find out the best combination for better performances of modern wet season rice varieties. The experiment consisted two factors, Factor A: Two rice varieties viz: V 1 = BRRI dhan71 and V 2 = BRRI dhan72; and Factor B = Five nutrient treatments viz: T 1 = N 85 + P 0 + K 55 + S 12 + Zn 1.2 ; T 2 = T 1 + P 15 (from TSP), T 3 = T 1 + P 15 (from DAP), T 4 = T 1 + P 15 (from TSP) + Poultry manure 3.7 t ha -1 , and T 5 = T 1 +P 15 (from DAP) + Poultry manure 3.7 t ha -1 . The experiment was laid out in split plot design with three replications. Uniform and standard management practices were followed for all the treatments and varieties. The treatments, varieties and their interactions had significant effects on growth parameters, yield and yield components of .BRRI dhan72 produced the statistically higher mean grain yield (6.30 t ha -1 ) compared to BRRI dhan71 (5.36 t ha ). Among the treatments, the highest mean grain yield (6.60 t ha -1 ) was obtained in T 5 followed by T 4 (6.15 t ha -1 ) and the lowest mean grain yield (4.65 t ha -1 ) was found in T 1 .and BRRI dhan72 produced the highest grain yield (7.10 t ha -1 ) in combination with the treatment T 5 that was followed by BRRI dhan72 with T 4 (6.40 t ha -1 ) and the lowest grain yield (3.80 t ha ) was found in BRRI dhan71 with T 1 . The highest grain yield (6.10 t ha -1 ) of BRRI dhan71 was attained along with T 5 . Growth parameters, yield components, straw yield and harvest index of both the varieties were followed the similar trend of grain yield. Both the rice varieties BRRI dhan72 and BRRI dhan71 gave their highest performances when applied fertilizers of the treatment T 5 . Therefore,it could be concluded that the treatment T 5 (N 85 + P 15(from DAP)+ K 55 +S 12 +Zn 1.5 + Poultry manure 3.7 tha -1 ) would be recommended for T. Aman rice to attain higher yield and better performance. -1 -1 en_US
