dc.description.abstract The research work was conducted at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University Farm, Dhaka during the Rabi season of November, 2019 to March, 2020 to study the effects of zinc (Zn) and boron (B) on the growth and yield of chili. Two factor experiments with Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was followed with 9 treatments (Zn 0 B 0, Zn 1 B 0, Zn 0 B 1, Zn 0 B 2, Zn 2 B 0, Zn 1 B 1, Zn and Zn 1 2 , B B 1 2 where Zn : 1.5 kg B ha 0 : 0 kg Zn ha -1 and B 2 -1 , Zn : 3 kg B ha 1 : 2 kg Zn ha -1 -1 , Zn 2 : 4 kg Zn ha -1 ) and replicated thrice. All of the growth and yield parameters of chili were significantly affected and increased with increasing levels of Zn and B. The tallest plant (76.67 cm), maximum value of number of leaves plant -1 (79.67), number of branches plant -1 (14.67), number of fruits plant -1 (74.78), fruit length (6.47cm), number of flowers plant (86.67) were found in Zn2B1 treatment. The interaction effect of Zn 2 B treatment results the highest weight of fruits (304.00g), maximum yield (12.67 t ha 1 ) and highest percentage of yield increase over control (67.09%). The results of this research work indicated that the plants performed better in Zn 2 B treatment over the control treatment (Zn 0 B 0 ). The treatment combination of Zn 1 B 2 had shown closest results to Zn 2 B 2 1 treatment. It can be concluded from the above study that the treatment Zn 2 B 1 (Zn@ 4 kg ha -1 and B @ 1.5 kg ha -1 ) was found to the most suitable treatment combination for the higher yield of chili in shallow Red Brown Terrace Soils of Bangladesh 1 B , B -1 -1 2, 0 Zn 2 B 1 : 0 kg B ha - en_US
