Abstract:
The study was conducted at the Biochemistry laboratory and Mushroom Culture House (MCH) of the Department of Biochemistry, Sher-e-I3angla Agricultural University,
Dhaka during the period from Januan' to June 2015 to study the effect ol different
sawdust on yield and proximate analysis of NAMDEC oyster mushrooms. The highest
mycelium running rate (0.76cmidays) was observed in '1'7. the lowest time required to
complete myeelium running(16.60days) was observed in T7 tlie lowest time(5.43days) in
T7 required from stimulation to primordial initiation, the lowest time (3.20days) in T,
from primordial initiation to harvest .The highest average number of primordial /packet
(90.21) in i'7 and the highest average number of fruiting body/packet(77.17) in
T7.Avrage weight of individual fruiting body (3.2 Ig) was higher in T5.The highest length
of stipe (2.96cm) in T7,the highest diameter of stipe (0.82cm) in 19, the highest diameter
of pileus (8.60cm)in T7. and the highest thickness of pileus(0.72cm) in 'I',. NAMDUC
Oyster-3 mushroom grown on Chambol sawdust gave the best result with the highest
biological yield (187.70gm), economic yield (181.0gm), dry yield (18.84gm), biological
efficiency (93.85%) and benefit cost ratio (4.25).The highest moisture content (89.86%)
was observed in 1 1,thc highest dry matter content(10.55%) was observed in T2, the
highest lipid content(3.87%) was observed in Ti. the highest crude fiber content(24.83%)
was observed in Ts. the highest carbohydrate content( 1.18%) was observed in Ti the
highest ash content(8.23%) was observed in T8 The highest phosphorus content(0.906%) was observed in T7 the highest potassium content(1.312%) was observed in T7. the
highest calcium content (22.11mg/I OOg)was observed in T9.the highest magnesium
contcnt(18.40mgJI00g) was observed in T1.thc highest iron content(42.27mgi100g)was
observed in T7 T3 and T9 and the highest zinc content(l5.12mg/100g) was observed in 1 7.NA.MIDEC Oyster-3 mushroom with Chambol sawdust performed bcst in terms of
percent protein (26.71%) and >1(4.27%) content.
