dc.description.abstract A three factor experiment was conducted at the field of Department of Agronomy, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka-1207 during the period from November 2017 to June 2018 to evaluate the growth, yield and nutrient uptake of three wheat genotypes under priming and salt stress condition. The experiment was laid out in a split-split plot design with three replications. The factors were- Factor A: variety- 3 levels viz. V 1 = ESWYT 5, V 2 = ESWYT 6 and V = BARI Gom 28; Factor B: salt stress- 3 levels viz. S 0 = no salt, S 1 = 10 dS m -1 = 15 dS m -1 and Factor C: priming agent- 3 levels viz. P 0 and S = without priming, P = 5% Polyethylene glycol (PEG) and P = 2% Mannitol. Polyethylen glycol (PEG) and Mannitol were used as priming chemicals and salt (NaCl) was used for salinity stress. The data on soil sample, plant sample, growth and yield contributing characters and nutrient uptake pattern attributes were measured and analyzed using a computer software statistix-10. The significance of difference among the treatments means was estimated by the least significance difference at LSD 2 0.05 . The results showed that among the varieties, V 1 (ESWYT 5); among salt stress levels, no salt (S (5% PEG) among priming agents showed the best findings. In case of different treatment interactions, however, V 1 S 0 (ESWYT 5 × no salt), V 1 P 1 0 3 2 1 ); P (ESWYT 5 × 5% PEG), S (no salt × 5% PEG) and V 1 S 0 P (ESWYT 5 × no salt × 5% PEG) showed the best performances in terms of all the growth, yield and nutrient uptake parameters studied. The worst performance was recorded from V (without priming), V priming), S 2 P 0 3 S (15 dS m 2 1 (BARI Gom 28 × 15 dS m -1 3 × without priming) and V (BARI Gom 28), S -1 ), V 3 S 2 P 3 0 P 0 2 (15 dS m 1 -1 (BARI Gom 28 × without (BARI Gom 28 × 15 dS m × without priming) in all the parameters examined. In the experiment, the interactions V 1 S 0 P 1, followed by V 1 S 0 P 2, V 1 S 1 P 1 and V 1 S 1 P performed well which may be recommended for the saline affected area in Bangladesh. 2 0 P ), P 1 0 -1 en_US
