dc.description.abstract The experiment was conducted in the Soil Science Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh during the period from July to November, 2017 to study the effect of NPK briquette fertilization on the growth and yield of T. Aman rice variety BRRI dhan75. The experiment comprised of 7 treatments as- T 0 : Control, T 1 : 100% RFD, T 2 ii : 120% RFD, T 3 : 80% RFD, T 4 : 1 NPK briquette within 4 hills, T 5 : 2 briquette within 4 hills and T 6 : 80% RFD + 1 briquette within 4 hills. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Data on different yield attributes, yield and characteristics of post-harvest soil was recorded and statistically significant variation was observed for different treatment under the study. The longest plant (115.87 cm) was found from T 6 treated plot, whereas the shortest plant (95.96 cm) from T 0 treatment at harvest. The maximum number of total tillers hill -1 (16.67) was found from T 6 treatment, whereas the minimum number (13.33) from T 0 treatment. The longest panicle (24.85 cm) was found from T 6 treatment, whereas the shortest panicle (20.55 cm) from T 0 treated plot. The maximum number of total grains panicle -1 treatment, while the minimum number (66.00) from T 0 (97.33) was recorded from T 6 treatment. The highest grain yield (4.47 t ha -1 ) was found from T 6 treatment, while the lowest grain yield (2.81 t ha -1 ) from T 0 treatment. The highest total N (0.073%) was recorded from T 6 treatment and the lowest soil total N (0.031%) was found from T 0 treatment. The highest available P (29.58 ppm) was recorded from T 6 treatment and the lowest available P (18.76 ppm) from T 0 treatment. The highest exchangeable K (0.176 meq/100 g soil) was recorded from T 6 treatment, on the other hand, the lowest exchangeable K (0.102 meq/100 g soil) from T 0 treated plot. From the above findings, it was revealed that applications of T 6 treatment (80% RFD + 1 NPK briquette within 4 hills) was found the superior among the other treatments in consideration of yield attributes of T. Aman rice variety BRRI dhan75. en_US
