dc.description.abstract An experiment was carried out at the Agronomy field laboratory, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during the period from August to December, 2014 to find out the growth and yield of blackgram as affected by weeding frequency under mikania vine application. The experiment comprised two factors viz. (i) four weeding frequency (W 0 = No weeding, Control), W 1 = Before critical period (3 DAS), W 2 = At critical period (6 DAS) and W 3 = After critical period (9 DAS) and (ii) four mikania vine application (M 0 = No Mikania vine, Control), M 1 = Mikania vine 2% of soil weight, M 2 = Mikania vine 4% of soil weight and M 3 = Mikania vine 6% of soil weight). The results revealed that interaction of W 0 M 0 gave the greatest number (469.0) of weeds plot -1 and (81.99 g) weed dry weight plot -1 . The highest seed yield (1.43 t ha -1 ) was recorded form W 1 M 3 and the minimum (0.81 t ha ) was recorded from the interaction of W 0 M 0 . The maximum yield as shown by the W 1 might be attributed to higher pods plant -1 (19.00), seed pod -1 (6.82) and 1000-seeds weight (47.67 g) which were also shown by this combination. -1 M 3 en_US
