dc.description.abstract The study was conducted in Jessore and Rangpur district of Bangladesh to determine the income inequality among the farmers. Gini-coefficient and multiple regression analysis were used 10 achieve the objectives of the study. The findings of the study indicated more than 50% of the total income was come from non agriculture sources. More income inequality was found among the farmers of Jessore district than that of Rangpur district. Overall Gini-coefficient was found to be 0.25 in the study areas. Income from non agriculture sources contributes 52% of the overall income inequality. Income, education, family size, access to credit etc. had positive and significant effect on the welfare of the farmers. Credit with low interest rate, low cost production technologies played a vital role to increase the income as well as the welfare of the farmers in the study areas. en_US
