dc.description A Thesis Submitted to the Deparinient of Agricultural Chemistry Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURAL CHEMISTRY SEMESTER: JANUARY-JUNE, 2016 en_US
dc.description.abstract The experiment was conducted at the research plot of the central t'arm of Shcr-e-Bangla Agricultural University. Dhaka during the period from February. 2016 to June. 2016 to study the combined effects of potassium and boron on growth, yield and nutrient contents of mungbean. The experiment was laid out in a two factors randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications. The experiment was designed with nine different treatment level viz. K0130(0 kg K ha1 a nd 0kg B hi'), K08,(0 kg K hi' and 1.5 kg B hi '), K0132 (0 kg K ha1 a nd 2.5 kg B ha1). K1130(1 5 kg K ha4 and 0kg B hi'). K,B1(15 kg K ha1 a nd 1.5 kg B ha1) K113205 kg K hi' and 2.5 kg B hi'). 1(2[30(25 kg K hi' and 0 kg B hi'). K2131(25 kg K hi'and 1.5 kg B hi') and K 2132(25 kg K ha1and 2.5 kg B hi'). The results indicate that tallest plant(68.47em), highest number of leavcs(23.73), maximum dry matter content(7.75gm). branches per plant(5.37), highest nodule per plant(44), number of pods per plant(2 1.47). number of seeds per pod(9.833). tallest pod(10.10cm). 1000 seed weight(46.97gm), maximum seed yieId(I.87 t hi') and harvest index(46.3 I) obtained from K2132 treatment except days to I' flowering(35.67 days) and stover yield(2.66 t hi'). Lowest values for all of the growth and yield parameters obtained from the treatment K01-30 Results showed that different potassium and boron levels significantly influenced the nutrients contributing characters of munghean. The uptake of nutrient N, P. K and 13 by seed was significantly influenced with the K2132 treatment. The maximum protein and 0-carotene content in seed was recorded in 25 kg K/ha with 2.5 kg B/ha treatment combination. Mungbean growth yield and nutrient contents was increased with increasing the K and B levels. en_US
