A field experiment was conducted at the Horticultural Farm of Sher-eBangla
Agricultural University, Dhaka from November, 2014 to March,
2015 to study the effect of GA
and boron on the growth and yield of
tomato, (CV- BARI Tomato-14). There were four concentrations of GA

. The experiment was laid out in a
Randomized Complete Block Design with 3 replications and there were
altogether 36 plots. Application of GA
and boron significantly influenced
the growth, yield and size of tomato. The highest yield (68.67 t/ha) was
found from G
1
and the lowest yield
3
(53.63 t/ha) was obtained from G
. Due
to application of boron, the highest yield (67.32 t/ha) was obtained from B
and lowest yield
(56.69 t/ha) was recorded from B
. In case of combined
effect, the highest yield (77.61 t/ha) was found from G
(34.72 t/ha) was found from G

and lowest yield
. Economic analysis raveled that G
gave the maximum benefit cost ratio (2.67). So, application of 70ppm GA
along with 10 kg boron /ha was the best for growth and yield of tomato. |
