dc.description.abstract As environmental considerations are very important now-a-days, making the RMG industry concern about green manufacturing practices where firms produce their product that minimize negative environmental impacts, conserve energy and natural resources, are safe for employees, communities, and consumers. Indeed, the theory and practices of green manufacturing has become a critical issue in dynamic business development (Jayal et al., 2010). So this report mainly focus on two research questions: one-“To what extent up to which RMG companies are conscious on green manufacturing?” and another is “what are the common green manufacturing practices of RMG sector in Bangladesh?” For this purpose semi-structured questionnaire was developed as a means of conducting the survey for collecting raw data and data were collected from total 30 companies which have at least one international or local certificate related to environment. The major findings of this report are divided into two parts according to research question. Almost all companies are conscious of green manufacturing where 46% companies are highly conscious. Second part mentioned practices of reduction of energy consumption, water consumption, using of renewable energy, reduction of noise reduction. Companies’ practices level on sustainable materials: raw materials, accessories, nonharmful chemicals and packing materials are given later. At last some policy suggestions were given related to green manufacturing practice in RMG sector. en_US
