dc.description.abstract The main purpose of the study was to determine the extent of constraints confrontation by the farmers in adoption of 1PM practices in rice cultivation in Savar upazila under Dhaka district and to explore the relationships between the selected characteristics of the respondents, namely, age, education, Ibmily size, (him size, training received, annual income, extension media contact, knowledge on 1PM and cosmopoliteness and their constraints confrontation in adoption of 1PM practices in rice cultivation. The study was conducted in five unions of Savar upazila namely. fliroliya, Ashulia, Shimulia, Bongoya and l3ongaon. Data were collected from 105 farmers using interview schedule during the period from 25 April 2007 to 25 May 2007. Appropriate scales were developed to measure the variables of the study. Correlation test was used to ascertain the relationships between the concerned dependent and independent variables of the study. Findings revealed that age, t'amily size and cosmopolitcness had no significant relationship with their constraints confrontation in adoption of 1PM practices , while education, farm size, training received, annual income, extension media contact, knowledge on 1PM had significant relationship with their constraints confrontation in adoption of 1PM practices The study revealed that highest proportion (53.4 percent) of the farmers had medium constraints fbcing in adoption of 1PM practices compared to 37.1 and 9.5 percent having low and high constraints hieing in adoption of 1PM practices respectively. en_US
