Abstract:
\ research was conducted at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. Dhaka.
Bangladesh during the period March to July 2007 for the management of rnungbean
yellow mosaic through some insecticides, plant extracts and cultural treatments on
BARI Mung-5. The ten different treatments of the experiment were T1 = Admire
:WOSL @ I ml/l litre of water at 7 days interval; T2 = Actara 25WG ra: 0 4 gm/I litre
of water at 7 days interv al. T1 =Marshal @ 3 m]/1 litre of water al 7 days interval: T.i
= Ripcord (@ 1.7 m.111 litre of water used at 7 days interval. Ts - Neem leaf extract
(I :4 w v): T6-= Garlic clove extract ( 1 :4 ~/v); T1 = Allamanda leaf extract (I :4 w/v);
Ts= Yellow trap: T<> <Reflective tape and T10 =Untreated (control). At 50 Days after
sowing the lowest tJ5.85%) disease symptoms expressed in true leaves was recorded
for treatment T1 and the highest (26.33%) in Tio. At 50 DAS the lowest (6.67%)
disease incidence was recorded for T1 and the highest (27.67%) in Tio. AL 50 DAS the
lowest (3.95) disease severity was recorded for T1 and the highest (7.JO) in I'rc- The
tallest (46.52 cm) plant was recorded in T1 and the shortest (38 44 cm) plant was
recorded in T10. The highest (23.50) number of pods per plant was recorded in T1.
while the lowest (14.84) number of pods per plant was recorded in T10. The maximum
(9.26 cm) pod length was recorded rn T1 and the minimum (8.00 cm) pod length was
recorded in T10 and T9. fhe maximum (I 1 55) number of seeds per pod was recorded
in Ti, while the minimum (8.05) number of seeds per pod was recorded in T10. The
highest (41.25 g) 1000 seed weight was recorded in f 1. while the lowest (35.74 g)
1000 seeds weight was recorded in T10• The highest {l.28 t/ha) yield was recorded for
treatment T1 and the lowest ( 1.0.2 t/ha) yield was recorded in T10.ChemicaJ treatment
showed the best result among the treatments.Ti gave the best performance in which
disease incidence was reduced b) 21.02% and the yield was increased by 25.49%.
Among all botanicals and cultural treatments r~ gave the best performance in which
disease incidence declined by J 8.67% and the yield was increased b) 17.65%.
