dc.description.abstract An experiment was conducted in the laboratory under the Department of Entomology, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period from December, 2016 to April, 2017 to know the extent of damage caused by pulse beetle in different mungbean varities. Six varities of mungbean invented by BARI and one local variety were selected for the experiment. This experiment was laid out in a Complete Randomized Design with four replications. The treatment T6, T1 and T5 comprising T3, T4 and T7 respectively performed the best results in respect of number of eggs, weight loss and germination capacity over the extent of damage. The lowest number of eggs were found in T1 (12) and treatment T7 showed the highest number of eggs (95).The lowest weight loss (27.89% ) was recorded from T6 , while the highest weight loss (48.80%) was recoded in T7.The highest germination capacity was recorded from (36.50%) T6 and the lowest germination capacity was recorded in (12.16%) T7 . en_US
