Abstract:
The main purpose of the study was to determine the extent of problems
thccd by the poultry thrmers in poultry production as well as to explore the
relationship bctwccn the selected characteristics of the Ilirmers and their
problem faced in poultry Ilirming. Data were collected from randomly
selected 100 poultry thrmers or
three selected unions of Mongla l.Jpazila
under Bagerhat district through personal interview by using an interview
schedule during March H) to March 30. 2009. Majority of the respondents
(57%) faced to high problem compared to 17% medium problem and 26%
low problem. Pearson Product Moment Correlation co-efficient showed that
among the selected eleven characteristics of the poultry farmers, family size.

and annual income had significant posits"e relationship
with their problem faced in poultry farming and age of the respondents had
a significant negative relationship with their problem faced in poultry
production. Other characteristics of the farmers had no significant
relationship with their problem faced in poultry production.
