dc.description.abstract A field experiment was conducted at the horticulture farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207, during April 2013 to March 2014 to study the effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on growth and yield of tuberose. The experiment consisted of four levels of nitrogen and three levels of phosphorus i.e. N : 180 kg, N 2 : 200 kg and N 3 : 220 kg N/ha and P 0 : 0 kg, P 1 : 170 kg and P /ha respectively and was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. In case of nitrogen the highest number of spike 2 2 and the lowest number of spike . For phosphorus, the highest number of spike 0 and the lowest number of spike . For combined effect, the highest number of spike 2 P and the lowest from control. So, 200 kg N/ha with 190 kg P 2 O 5 2 0 : 0 kg, N : 190 kg P 2 /ha was found best for growth and flowering of tuberose. en_US
