Abstract:
The experiment was conducted in the Horticulture Farm, Sher-e-Bangla
Agricultural University, Dhaka during November 2012 to June 2013. The
experiment consisted with two factors. Factor A: Four levels of phosphorus i.e.
P
0
: 0, P
1
: 120, P
2
: 140 and P
3
: 160, P
2
O
5
kg ha
-1
respectively. Factor B: Four
levels of zinc as Zn
0
: 0, Zn
1
: 1, Zn
2
: 2 and Zn
3
: 3 Zn kg ha
-1
respectively. The
experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with three
replications. In case of phosphorus, highest corm yield
–1
2
and lowest corm yield
–1
0
. For zinc, highest corm yield
–1
2
-1
–1
while lowest corm yield
–1
. For interaction effect, highest corm
yield
–1
0
–1
2
Zn
while lowest
corm yield
–1
–1
2
. So,
140 kg P
2
O
5
and 2.0 kg Zn ha
–1
was found best for growth, flowering and yield
of gladiolus.
