Abstract:
his study was intended to investigate the farmer's opimon towards the
effectiveness of result demonstration in adoption of BRRI dhan-28 I 29 and to
explore the relationship between the effectiveness of result demonstration and
some of selected characteristics of the farmers. The selected characteristics
includes: age, education, family size, farm size, annual income, extension media
contact, organizational participation and agriculture knowledge of the farmers.
The data were collected from the villages of Birbagber, Baznabo and
Dakshindhuru of the Belabo Upazilla under Narsingdi District The data were
collected through personal interview by using an interview schedule during the
period from 15 October to 5, December 2006. Pearson's product moment
correlation co-efficient (r) was computed to examine the relationship between the
concerned variables. Finding revealed that 65 percent farmers considered result
demonstration as medium effective while 12.5 percent low effective and 17 .5
percent farmers considered as highly effectives respectively. Correlation analysis
indicated that the characteristics such as Education, farm size, Annual income,
Extension contact and Agricultural knowledge of the farmers had significant and
positive relationship with their opinion about the effectiveness of result
demonstration in adoption of BRRI dhan-28 I 29. On the other hand age, family
size, and organizational participation of the farmers had no relationship with the
effectiveness of result demonstration in adoption of BRRI dhan-28 I 29.
