Abstract:
purpose of the research work was to determine the extent of adoption of selected T.
Aman production technologies by the farmers of Sarishabari upazila. Attempt was also made
to explore the relanonshrp between selected characteristics namely age, level of education,
family size, farm size, annual family income, organizational participation, innovauvencss,
extension media contact, commercialization and cosmopoliteness of the farmers and their
composite adoption of selected TAman production technologies Data were collected from
randomly selected 130 fanners of Pingna union under Sarishabari upazilla of Jarnalpur
district by using an interview schedule. Data were collected during 12111 August to 18th
October, 2006. Appropriate scales were developed in order to measure the variables.
Correlation test was used to ascertain the relationships between the concerned dependent and
independent variables of the research work. Majority (43 percent) of the farmers had medium
adoption while 37 percent had high adoption and 20 percent had low adoption of selected T.
Arnan production technologies. Among the selected characteristics, level of education, farm
size, annual family income, organizational participation, innovativeness and extension media
contact showed significant and positive relationships with their adoption of selected TAman
production technologies. On the other hand age, family size, commercialization and
cosmopoliteness did not show any significant relationship with their composite adoption of
