dc.description.abstract The study was carried out at the research fleld of Sher-e- Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during 31 March 2007 to 8 June 2007 to evaluate the effect time of weeding and spacing on the yield perlbrmance of blackgram. The treatment comprised of three levels of weeding viz, no weeding, one weeding at 25 DAS and two weedings at 25 and 40 DAS. and four types ol spacings viz. 30cm x7 cm, 30cm x 10 cm, 30cm x 13 cm and 30cm x 16 cm. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design factorial. Two times of weeding. (at 25 and 40 DAS) increased grain yield with higher values of harvest index as the crop characters like plant height, branches plant". number olleatlets plant", number of flowers plant", number of pods plant", seeds pod - dry weight plani', yield plant" and 1000 seed weight were higher. The seed yield with two weeding was 56.18% and 25.23% higher than no weeding and one weeding respectively. The spacing, 30cm x 10 cm showed its superiority by producing 7.96%, 8.92% and 16.19% higher yield than 30cm cm and 30cm xl6 eni spacing, respectively. The 30cm x x 7 cm. 30cm 10 cm spacing also showed higher biological yield and harvest index. Interaction of two weeding with 30cm xl 0 cm spacing performed best in respect of seed yield (1.58 t ha'). en_US
