Abstract:
A field experiment comprising of three broccoli cultivars (V

Green Magic and V
BARI Broccoli-1) with four different levels of boron
(B

control, B

1 kg/ha, B

3 kg/ha) was conducted at
Horticulture Farm, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, during
October, 2015 to February, 2016. The experiment was laid out in Randomized
Complete Block Design with three replications. The significant variation was
observed among the cultivars in different parameters. Green magic performed
the highest yield (16.48 t/ha) and the lowest yield (13.38 t/ha) was found from
BARI Broccoli-1. Most of the parameters such as no. of leaves, leaf breadth,
root length, main curd diameter and main curd weight were significantly
influenced by the different cultivars and boron.

The highest yield (17.12 t/ha)
was found from the treatment B
and the lowest (13.14 t/ha) from the treatment

For combined effect highest yield (18.16 t/ha) was found from V

lowest (12.45 t/ha) was obtained from V

So, Green magic cultivar with 2 kg boron was found suitable for
growth and yield of broccoli.
