dc.description.abstract The experiment was carried out in a typical rice growing soil of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, during the period from 24 th July to 24 November 2014 to study the effect of zinc and boron on the growth and yield of T. Aman rice (BRRI dhan34). The experiment was laid out into Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Two factors were comprised with study viz. factor A: B 0 = 0 kg B ha -1 , B 1 = 2 kg B ha -1 and B 2 = 4 kg B ha and Factor B: Zn 0 = 0 kg Zn ha -1 , Zn 1 = 2 kg Zn ha -1 and Zn 2 = 4 kg Zn ha -1 . Data were recorded on different growth, yield and yield contributing parameters. Most of the parameters showed significant difference among the treatment. Results indicated that the highest straw weight ha -1 (8.07 t) was recorded from B 1 Zn ; the number of total tiller hill -1 (19.81) and effective tiller hill -1 1 -1 th (14.53) were received from B . Again, the highest panicle length (25.28 cm), filled grain panicle -1 (143.60), total grain panicle -1 (161.40), grain weight ha -1 (5.72 t ha -1 ) and harvest index (45.77 %) were recorded from B 2 Zn 2 . The highest plant height (132.30 cm), non effective tiller hill -1 (5.55) and un-filled grain panicle -1 (56.52) were achieved from the treatment combination of B 1 Zn 2 , B 0 Zn 2 and B 0 Zn respectively. The treatment combination B 2 Zn 2 0 performed better for increasing the yield of T. Aman rice and improved the nutrient status of post harvest soil of AEZ 28. 1 Zn 0 en_US
