dc.description.abstract A field experiment was conducted at Horticulture Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, to study the effect of calcium and zinc in green chilli production (cv. BARI Morich 2). The experiment consisted of two factors, viz., Factor A: four levels of calcium (Ca ii 0 : 0 kg ha -1 , Ca 1 : 19 kg ha : 27 kg ha -1 and Ca 3 : 35 kg ha -1 ) and Factor B: three levels of zinc (Zn 0 -1 : 0 kg ha : 2.5 kg ha -1 and Zn 2 : 5.0 kg ha -1 ).Vegetative growth, yield Contributing characters and yield were measured during the experiment. In case of calcium, the highest number of flowers plant -1 (69.65), number of fruits plant -1 (59.63), average fruit weight (2.66 g), fruit yield plant -1 (243.60 g) and fruit yield ha -1 (10.30 t) were recorded in treatment of Ca 2 (27 kg ha -1 ) meanwhile, the lowest values of the above mentioned parameters were found in the control. , On the other hand, in case of zinc, the highest number of flowers plant -1 . , Ca -1 2 , Zn (71.90), number of fruits plant (62.18), average fruit weight (2.84 g), fruit yield plant -1 (257.10 g) and fruit yield ha -1 (10.90 t) were recorded in treatment of Zn 1 (2.5 kg ha -1 ), meanwhile, the lowest values of the above mentioned parameters were found in the control. In case of interaction effect, the highest values of the above mentioned parameters were found in Ca 2 Zn 1. The highest Benefit Cost Ratio (3.69) was also found from Ca 2 Zn 1 treatment combination. Therefore it can be concluded that 27 kg ha of calcium and 3.5 kg ha -1 of zinc were found beneficial for growth and yield of green chili. en_US
