dc.description.abstract The experiment was conducted in the Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh during the period from March to June 2008 to study the ellbct of farm yard manure and chemical fertilizers on the growth and yield of okra. The red tarrece soil of Tejgaon was silty loam in texture having ph 5.6. The experiment was conducted in a RCBD with 4 replications and 7 treatments. The treatments were T O : Control, I: 100% organic manure Warm yard manure 25 ton/ha). 12: 100% chemical fertilizers ltJrea 200 kg/ha (100 kg +50 kg f 50kg) + 150 kg TSP/ha + 125 kg ?vfP/ha i 75 kg (iypsumlha + 5 kg Zinc sulphate/ha]. 1' 3: 80% organic manure + 20% chemical fertilizers. 1 1 : 60% organic manure F 40% chemical fertilizers. T 5 : 40% organic manure + 60% chemical fertilizers. T 6: 20% organic manure + 80% chemical fertilizers. It was observed from the experiment that T 5 combination significantly increased all the parameters studied. Maximum results were found with T 5 treatment and minimum results were found with T Q treatment in the most of the cases on the growth and yield of okra. en_US
