Abstract:
'flie experiment was eonducwd in the Farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural tjniversity. Dhaka. I3angladcsh during the period horn J uly to November. 2007 io study the effect of urea super granule on the yield and quality of '1-aman rice. BRI I was used as the test crop in the experiment. The experiment consisted of 7 treatments. Such as F: Control: T1: 50% urea as urea super granule; 12: 75% urea as urea super granule: 1,: 100% urea as urea super granule: f4: 50'Yo urea as broadcast; T: 75% urea as broadcast and Tb: 100% urea as broadcast. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design (RCBI)) with four replications. At 20, 40. 60, 80 I)AT and at harvest the maximum plant height was obtained from treatment 'F;. The highcst grain yield (6.91 L/ha), straw yield (7.90 I/ha), maximum biological yield (14.32 I/ha) were obtained from l'$. The re;ults indicated that the total numbers of tillers bill4. elftctivc tilLer hilr'. maximum filled grains panicle''. 1000 grain weight were found statistically significant. The N. P, K. S contents as well as their uptake by rice were also significantly increased due to application of different treatments. The treatments also shows the significant effect on soil properties like soil ph. organic matter (%). total N (%). available P & S and exchangeable K.
