dc.description.abstract An experiment was conducted at experimental field of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka-1207, Bangladesh, during the period from October 2014 to April 2015 to estimate genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance in agro-morphogenic traits of tomatillo (Physalis ixocarpa brot.) genotypes. Four genotypes were used in the study. The genotypes were PI001, PI002, PI003 and PI004. Data were collected on days to first flowering, days to 50% flowering, number of branch per plant, number of fruits per plant, average fruit weight, fruit length, fruit diameter and fruit yield per plant. Genotype 3 (PI003) was the highest performer in terms yield (3.07 kg/plant). Genotype 1 (PI001) and genotype 2 (PI002) show earliness in flowering. No. of branch per plant and fruits per plant were highest in genotype 4 (PI-4) while the highest average fruit wt. was shown in genotype 1 (PI001). Av. fruit wt., FL, FD show significant positive correlation with yield while days to flowering, no. of branch per plant and no. of fruits per plant correlate negatively. Least difference between GCV and PCV for NBPP, AFW and FYPP indicate that variation is due to the environment. en_US
