Six wild corcizorus species collected from different geographic origins were evaluated&#13;
to study their variability, correlation and palh coefficient analysis with 16&#13;
morphological and S anatomical characters at Bangladesh Jute Research Institute.&#13;
Dhaka, during April to December. 2004. Significant variations were observed among&#13;
the species tested. Considering genetic parameters. high GC'V values were observed&#13;
for plant height, internode length, leaf area. number of branch per plant. number of&#13;
node per plant, green weight with leaves, green weight without leaves, dry fibre&#13;
weight, dry slick weight, number of' fruits per plant. number of seeds per fruit, root&#13;
length and all anatomical characters. I ligh heritability values with high genetic&#13;
advance in percentage of means were observed For root length. plant height. inter&#13;
node length, leaf area, number of branch per plant, number of node per plant, green&#13;
weight with leaves, green weight without leaves. dry fibre weight. dry suck weight,&#13;
number of fruits per plant, number of seeds per fruit and all anatomical characters.&#13;
The fibre yield showed strong significant positive correlations with plant height. base&#13;
diameter, middle diameter. number of node per plant, fresh weight with leaves, fresh&#13;
weight without leaves, number of fruits per plant, dry stick weight, bark thickness.&#13;

number of Fibre bundle per TS. number are per layer, number of pyramid per IS,&#13;
ultimate fibre cell length both at phenotypic and genotypic levels.&#13;
Path coefficient analysis indicated maximum direct contribution towards dry fibre&#13;
weight through bark thickness followed by thy stick weight, plant height, ultimate&#13;
fibre cell length, number of node per plant, root length, top diameter, middle diameter,&#13;
L/B ratio, inter node length, number of fibre bundle per TS. branch per plant both at&#13;
phenotypie and genotypic levels.&#13;
