<link>http://localhost:8080/handle/123456789/3482</link>
<description>EFFECTS OF IRRIGATION AND SULPHUR ON GROWTH, YIELD AND OIL CONTENT OF RAPESEED
ROY, KANAK CHANDRA
An experiment was conducted at the agronomy field of Sher-e-Bangla&#13;
Agricultural University during the period of October 2013 to February 2014 to&#13;
examine the effect of irrigation and sulphur on the growth, yield and oil content&#13;
of rapeseed &#13;
5&#13;
-1&#13;
. The experiment was&#13;
laid out in split plot design with three replications assigning irrigation in the&#13;
main plots and levels of sulphur in the subplot. Irrigation and sulphur&#13;
significantly influenced the growth, development, yield and yield attributes of&#13;
rapeseed. Plant height, number of primary branches per plant, secondary&#13;
branches per plant, number of siliquae per plant, siliquae length, seeds per&#13;
siliquae, seed yield and oil content was significantly influenced by both&#13;
irrigation and sulphur. Among the irrigation treatments, two irrigation levels&#13;
resulted the better growth parameters like plant height and yield components&#13;
like number of primary branches per plant, secondary branches per plant,&#13;
number of siliquae per plant, siliquae length, seeds per siliqua and  seed yield.&#13;
Irrigation levels also influenced the oil content. Twice irrigation levels showed&#13;
the best performance in all respect. The highest seed yield 1505 kg ha&#13;
was&#13;
obtained from twice irrigation levels while control treatment gave the lowest&#13;
yield. The result revealed that application of 45 kg S ha&#13;
-1&#13;
showed superior in all&#13;
respect which is statistically similar to the application of 30 kg S ha&#13;
except oil&#13;
content. The interaction effect of irrigation and sulphur revealed that twice&#13;
irrigation levels in combination with 45 kg S ha&#13;
-1&#13;
showed the best performance&#13;
which was statistically similar to twice irrigations with 30 kg S ha&#13;
-1&#13;
.

<title>EFFECT OF NPK ON THE GROWTH, YIELD AND NUTRIENTS CONTENT OF TWO CULTIVARS OF AROMATIC RICE</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/handle/123456789/2008</link>
<description>EFFECT OF NPK ON THE GROWTH, YIELD AND NUTRIENTS CONTENT OF TWO CULTIVARS OF AROMATIC RICE
ARFAN, MD. MOKUL
A field experiment was conducted at the Agronomy field. Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural&#13;
University (SAy), during July to December, 2014 to study the effect of NPK on the growth and&#13;
yield of aromatic rice cultivars. Two varities are BRRI dhan38 (Vt) and Chinigura (V2) and&#13;
four NPK fertilizers doses: 0% recommended fertilizer dose of NPK (lo), 75% recommended&#13;
fertilizer dose of NPK (Ti), 100% recommended fertilizer dose of NPK (12) and 125%&#13;
recommended fertilizer dose of NPK (T3) are included in the experiment. Recommended NPK&#13;
fertilizers doses are 69 kg N/ha, 21 kg P/ha, 35.5kg K/ha. The experiment was laid out in two&#13;
factors Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications. 'There were 24&#13;
unit piols, each plot measuring 2 in x 2 m. The data were analyzed using MSTAT-C program.&#13;
The mean differences among the treatments were compared by Duncan's Multiple Range Test&#13;
(DMRT). The following agronomical parameter of the varieties such as total tillers hill",&#13;
effective tillers hill4, non-effective tillers hill", filled grains panicle", unfilled grains panicle".&#13;
panicle length, 1000-grain weight, grain yield were studied. The tallest plant was found in&#13;
('hiniguru. BRRI dhan38 achieved maximum number of total tillers hill", effective tillers hill1.&#13;
panicle length, number of filled grain panicle". Among the two varieties the higher grain&#13;
yield (3.37 t ha") was found in BRRI dhan38. Different NPK fertilizers doses significantly&#13;
affected all growth characters. The maximum number of total tillers bill". effective tiller hill",&#13;
panicle length and number of filled grains panicle" were found at 125% recommended NPK&#13;
fertilizer dose. The highest grain yield (3.44 , ha") was also recorded at 125% recommended&#13;
NPK fertilizer dose. Among the combined effects of varieties and NPK fertilizer doses, the&#13;
highest grain yield (3.67 t ha") was observed from the combination of BRRI dhan 38 with&#13;
higher fertilizer dose. Among the two varieties, chinigura contained the maximum total N&#13;
(1.22% and 0.50%) in grain and straw, respectively. On the other hand,I3RRI dhan38 contained&#13;
the maximum amount of phosphorus (0.22% and 0.14%) and potassium (0.93% and 1.68%)&#13;
in grain and straw, respectively. In both varieties it is increased significantly with the increasing&#13;
fertilizer dose.

<title>EFFECTS OF SULFUR AND BORON ON THE GROWTH, YIELD, OIL AND SULFUR CONTENT OF BARI TiI-4</title>
<link>http://localhost:8080/handle/123456789/2007</link>
<description>EFFECTS OF SULFUR AND BORON ON THE GROWTH, YIELD, OIL AND SULFUR CONTENT OF BARI TiI-4
ISLAM, MEER TOWHID-UL
An experiment was conducted at Shcr-e-Bangla Agricultural University Farm, Dhaka1207&#13;
with a view to evaluate the effect of sulfur and boron on the growth. yield, oil&#13;
and nutrient content of BARI 111-4 during (he period from April to July, 2014. The&#13;
experiment was consisted of four levels of sulfur (So 0. Sj= 10, S2= 20 and S3 = 30&#13;
kg S ha-) and four levels of boron (130 = 0. B1 = 10. B2= 1.5 and B3= 2kg B ha"'). It&#13;
was replicated thrice in a randomized complete block design. The results showed that&#13;
sulfur, boron and their interaction significantly influenced most of the growth and&#13;
yield contributing characters such as plant height. number of leaves per plant number&#13;
of branches per plant, fresh and dry weight of leaves, fresh and dry weight of stern.&#13;
number of capsules. number of seeds per capsule. 1000-seed weight, fresh weight of&#13;
pods, seed dry weight. stover dry weight, seed -stover ratio (on dry weight basis), seed&#13;
yield, stover yield, biological yield, harvest index, oil content and sulfur concentration&#13;
in seed of sesame. All parameters studied in this experiment increased with the&#13;
increasing sulfur levels. 30 kg S ha'' gave the highest results in all cases. Except 1000seedweight&#13;
and S concentration in seed, the yield contributing parameters increased&#13;
with the increasing boron levels up to 1.5 kg ha" which showed statistically similar&#13;
results with most of the parameters of 2 kg ha". The highest seed yield (1.657 ton ha'&#13;
5, oil content (44.60 %) and S concentration (0.2157 %) were obtained from the&#13;
interaction of S3B2 (30 kg S had and 1.5 kg B ha") treatment due to the production of&#13;
the highest number of capsules plant", maximum number of seeds capsule" and&#13;
highest weight of 1000-seed.
